Rs 5.6 Cr Cash, 106 Kg Jewellery Seized in Karnataka Ahead Of Polls

Bengaluru: Cash worth Rs 5.60 crore, 3 kg of gold, 103 kg of silver jewellery, and 68 silver bars have been seized by the Karnataka Police in a major raid ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Karnataka police made this massive seizure during raids conducted in Bellary town.

The police recovered huge piles of cash amounting to Rs 5.6 crore. Gold and silver bars and jewellery worth crores of rupees were also recovered. The total seizure was worth more than Rs 7.60 crore.

According to the police sources, the huge haul of cash and jewellery was seized from the house of a jewellery shop owner named Naresh.

The police suspect a possible hawala link to this seizure. The findings of the police probe will be forwarded to the Income Tax department for further investigation.
