Bihar Dy CM Removes Turban After Months in Ayodhya; Know Why

Ayodhya: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, who had pledged to wear a turban until Nitish Kumar resigned as Chief Minister of the Mahagathbandhan, finally removed it on Wednesday morning. Chaudhary marked the occasion by shaving his head and taking a ritual bath in the river Saryu in Ayodhya.

Chaudhary stated that his vow was fulfilled in January when Nitish Kumar stepped down as Chief Minister of the RJD-JD(U)-Congress alliance and joined the BJP-led NDA to once again become the Chief Minister.

“Our aim was to see Nitish Kumar removed from the post of Chief Minister. This was accomplished on January 28 when he left the INDIA bloc, joined the NDA, and assumed office as our Chief Minister,” Chaudhary said. “With this, my resolution is complete, and I have removed my turban.”

During his visit to Ayodhya, Chaudhary was accompanied by several Bihar ministers and party officials. After his bath in the Saryu river, he offered prayers at the Hanumangarhi temple and the Ram Janmabhoomi.
