Sexual Abuse Accused Prajwal Revanna’s Judicial Custody Extended by 14 Days

Bengaluru: The judicial custody of arrested former JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna was extended by 14 days by a Bengaluru court on Tuesday. He is facing charges of rape and sexual abuse against several women.

Karnataka Police’s SIT took him to Parappana Agrahara prison when the 42nd Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court extended his judicial custody.

The 33-year-old former JD(S) MP was arrested at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport when he landed from Germany on May 31.

A Special Court for Elected Representatives issued an arrest warrant against Revanna on May 18.

Revanna, who lost from Hassan, in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, is entangled in a sex-scandal after some explicit videos went viral on social media purportedly showing him.

Prajwal Revanna has been booked in three cases of sexual assault. There are also charges of rape against him.

JD(S) suspended him from the party after cases were filed against him.
