Similipal National Park Reopened Today Welcoming Tourists on Durga Puja Holiday

Baripada: The Similipal National Park in Mayurbhanj district reopened for tourists on Thursday after remaining closed for around four months.

The reopening of the Similipal National Park coincides with the tourist season of Durga Puja holidays.

Spanning around 2,750 square kilometers, Similipal is one of the largest national parks in India. According to reports, after its reopening, 25 tourist vehicles were allowed to enter through the Pithabata gate and 35 vehicles entered the National parkl through the Kalikaprasad gate.

All these tourist vehicles will have to come out of the National Park through the Kalikaprasad gate.

The ticket counter at Kalikaprasad gate will remain open from 6 am to 12 noon and the one near Pithabata gate will operate from 11 am to 1 pm.

With the reopening, the National Park’s staffs greeted the tourists with garlands of flower at the entry points. According to forest officials, accommodations for night stays at Gudgudia, Kumari, Ramtirtha, Barehipani, and Jamuani can be booked through the official website, www.ecotourodisha.com.
