Sonia Gandhi Re-Elected As Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson

New Delhi: Sonia Gandhi has been unanimously re-elected as the chairperson of the party’s parliamentary party. The decision was taken during a meeting of Congress MPs on Saturday.

The proposal, put forward by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, was supported by Gaurav Gogoi, K Sudhakaran, and Tariq Anwar during a meeting of party MPs.

Gandhi, 77, was elected to the Rajya Sabha in February.

Meanwhile, the Congress Working Committee (CWC) has also unanimously urged Rahul Gandhi to assume the pivotal role of the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha. Rahul Gandhi, the former Congress President, has assured the party’s top brass that he will decide on accepting the responsibility “very soon.”
