Southwest Monsoon Set to Arrive in Odisha Within 4-5 Days: IMD

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted the arrival of the Southwest Monsoon in Odisha within the next 4-5 days.

The monsoon has already advanced into parts of the central Arabian Sea, Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and parts of the Westcentral and Northwest Bay of Bengal.

The IMD has reported favourable conditions for the monsoon’s further advance into the remaining areas of the central Arabian Sea, Karnataka, South Maharashtra, Goa, Rayalaseema, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, South Chhattisgarh, and South Odisha over the next few days.

Meanwhile, the Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has issued a heatwave warning for several districts of Odisha for tomorrow. The districts likely to be affected include Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, Bargarh, Nuapada, and Kandhamal. Additionally, hot and humid conditions are expected in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
