State Planning Board Dissolved by Odisha Govt

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi approved the proposal for the dissolution of the planning body on Wednesday, stated an official release from the CM’s Office.

Following this, the BJP government in the state is expected to reconstitute a new planning board with installation of the new Chairman of the Board and his deputy.

The State Planning Board is to have a Chairman, a Deputy Chairman and 14 members.

According to sources, the leaders who are linked to the ruling BJP may be instated in the revamped board.

Notably, State-level Planning Boards are constituted in line with the Planning Commission to provide guidance for the state plan and to monitor the implementation of plans and programmes of the state government.
