Supreme Court Rejects Plea to Remove Kejriwal from Delhi CM’s Post

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday quashed a plea seeking the removal of Arvind Kejriwal from the post of Delhi Chief Minister after his arrest in a money-laundering case related to the excise policy scam.

A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta said, “It is up to Delhi L-G to act if he wants to but we will not interfere.”

The court said there is no legal right in seeking the removal of Kejriwal as the CM following his arrest.

The Supreme Court was hearing a plea by petitioner Kant Bhati challenging the Delhi High Court’s order dated April 10 by which his plea with same demand was dismissed.
