T20 World Cup 2024 Schedule Announced: India vs Pakistan on June 9; Final on June 29

The ICC has announced the schedule for the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, and defending champions India find themselves in Group A alongside Pakistan, Ireland, the USA, and Canada. Group B comprises England, Australia, Namibia, Scotland, and Oman, while Group C sees New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda, and Papua New Guinea competing. South Africa headlines Group D, which includes Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the Netherlands, and Nepal.

The T20 World Cup 2024 introduces a revamped format with 20 teams, divided into four groups of five. The top two from each group will advance to the Super Eight stage, leading to the semi-finals and the final on June 29 in Barbados.

The tournament kicks off on June 1 with a clash between USA and Canada. India’s campaign begins on June 5 against Ireland in New York, followed by a highly anticipated encounter against arch-rivals Pakistan on June 9 in a specially constructed stadium in New York. The group stage continues with matches against the USA on June 12 in New York and Canada on June 15 in Florida.

India’s group stage matches will unfold across various venues in the USA, and after the initial phase, the Super Eight matches will move to locations in the West Indies. The tournament features a competitive lineup, including hosts West Indies and the United States, along with top-eight finishers Australia, England, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, and Sri Lanka. The new format enhances the intensity, with teams divided into five groups of four, ensuring a rigorous competition.
