T20 World Cup Final, IND vs SA: Barbados Weather Updates; Rain Likely to Play Spoilsport

Barbados: The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 has reached its climax, with undefeated India and South Africa set to battle it out for glory at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados on Saturday. Both teams have been dominant throughout the tournament, leaving fans excited for a thrilling encounter.

South Africa booked their place in the final with a convincing nine-wicket win over Afghanistan in the first semifinal, while India comfortably defeated England by 68 runs in the semifinal 2.

This clash promises fireworks as both sides boast exceptional form and a burning desire to lift the coveted trophy.

However, the highly anticipated match faces a potential washout due to a gloomy weather forecast. Weather reports predict a 70% chance of rain at the scheduled start time of 8:00 PM IST (10:30 AM local time). The forecast remains concerning for a full game with a 50% chance of precipitation later in the evening.

The ICC has allocated a reserve day for the final on Sunday, to ensure a result. However, efforts will prioritise completing the match on the scheduled day.

Unlike the group stage, a minimum of ten overs per team is required for a DLS ( Duckworth-Lewis Method) result. If ten overs aren’t possible across both days, the trophy will be shared between India and South Africa.
