Truck Driver, Who Ran Over Traffic Constable In Bhubaneswar, Nabbed From Banki

Bhubaneswar: The truck driver, who ran over a traffic constable in Bhubaneswar on June 29, was arrested by the Commissionerate police from Banki area on Tuesday.

Personnel of the Nayapalli police station arrested the driver from Gopalpur in Banki area of Cuttack. The accident-causing truck was also seized by police.

The truck driver had absconded from the spot after causing the accident at the Jaydev Vihar flyover in Bhubaneswar.

Traffic constable Madhusudan Kirshani was run over by the truck on NH-16 near Jayadev Vihar flyover in Bhubaneswar on Saturday night.

At around 11 pm on Saturday night, Kirshani was returning home after finishing his duty at Ram Mandir square traffic post, when he met with the accident.

Police examined the CCTV footage of the area to track down the truck and its driver.
