New Delhi: Two earthquakes were felt in the western part of Afghanistan on Saturday at around 12:15 pm, stated the National Centre for Seismology.
At first, a 6.1 magnitude earthquake was reported at 12:11. It was followed by the tremors of a 5.9 magnitude earthquake at 12:19.
The epicentre of the seismic activity was identified as 40 kilometres northwest of the city of Herat.
No reports of damages to properties or injuries have emerged so far.
On Tuesday, four earthquakes, the strongest being of magnitude 6.2 on the Richter Scale hit Nepal in quick succession. Its tremors were felt in many parts of north India, including the Delhi-NCR.
