Unit Manufacturing Adulterated Milk & Milk Products Busted in Cuttack

Cuttack: A unit allegedly manufacturing adulterated milk and other milk products including curd and lassi was busted by the Commissionerate Police on Monday busted at Atada village under Jagatpur police station limits.

According to police sources, this adulterated milk in unhygienic conditions was being prepared by mixing skimmed milk powder with normal tap water. No pasteurisation process was being followed at the unit.

During a joint raid by the Commissionerate police and health officials skimmed milk powder, sodium hydroxide and other chemicals were seized from the spot.

The adulterated milk was being sold in the market in the name of Rohini brand.

The milk products of this clandestine unit were being marketed in Puri, Kendrapara and Choudwar.
