Veteran Actress Sulochna Latkar Passes Away at 94

Mumbai: Veteran Bollywood and Marathi film actress Sulochna Latkar, known for her remarkable contributions to Indian cinema, passed away on Sunday at the age of 94. She had been undergoing treatment at Mumbai’s Sushrusha Hospital. The actress succumbed to age-related ailments, leading to her unfortunate demise. The funeral ceremony of Sulochna Latkar will be held on Monday at Dadar cremation ground.

Sulochna’s daughter, Kanchan Ghanekar, revealed that her mother had been admitted to the hospital due to breathing difficulties and other health issues associated with ageing. Reports suggest that Sulochna’s health had worsened since Saturday, leading to her placement on a ventilator.

Back in March, Sulochna’s health had reached a critical stage, necessitating her hospitalization. The actress had been battling breathing problems and other age-related ailments. After undergoing a three-week treatment, she was eventually discharged upon showing signs of recovery.

Sulochna Latkar had an illustrious career spanning several decades, with more than 50 Marathi films to her credit. She showcased her talent through a range of lead and character roles before making a successful transition to Bollywood. Her filmography includes over 250 Hindi films, leaving an indelible impact on the industry.
