Wild Elephant Electrocuted in Sundargarh Dist

Sundargarh: A wild elephant was electrocuted to death on the outskirts of the Nuagaon village under Balani panchayat in  Sundargarh district on Monday night.

Forest department officials seized the body of the pachyderm for autopsy.

According to reports, the stray elephant came in contact with a livewire while it ventured towards the Nuagaon village in search of food. It was electrocuted to death on the spot.

Villagers found the carcass of the elephant on Tuesday morning and informed the Forest department.
