Young Lovers Try to End Life by Hanging in Dhenkanal Dist

Dhenkanal: A young couple attempted suicide by hanging themselves from a tree in Govindpur village in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Tuesday.

Locals found them hanging and informed the police. The boy was found to have died. The girl was rescued in serious condition. She was admitted to a local medical center.

The deceased youth was Kanhu Charan Mohapatra of Gobindpur. According to reports, he was in love with the young woman, who also attempted suicide along with him.

It is suspected that they took the drastic decision as their families were opposed to their relationship and marriage. Police are investigating to ascertain the reason behind their suicide attempt.
