Divyang Youth Surrenders After Slitting Throat of Widow in Cuttack Dist

Bhubaneswar: A youth surrendered before police after allegedly murdering a widow at Panchagaon village under Tigiria police station limits in Cuttack district on Friday night.

The accused identified as Kartik Sethi is an inhabitant of the same village.

According to reports, Kartik was a tenant of the deceased widow’s house since he was a child. He used to work as a servant of the widow. On Friday night, Kartik and the widow had an altercation and in a rage he killed her brutally her by slitting her throat with a sharp weapon. Later he surrendered at the Tigiria police station.

The deceased widow was staying at her residence alone after the death of her husband. Her son is studying outside the state.

Police have seized the body and sent it for post-mortem. The motive behind the murder is being investigated.
