Odisha CM in Delhi To Woo Investors Aiming To Attract Rs 5 Lakh Cr Investment In 5 Yrs

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday night on a two-day visit with an aim to woo investors for Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha Conclave, the state’s flagship global investors’ summit, to be organized in Bhubaneswar on January 28-29, 2025.

Before flying off to Delhi, the CM told newsmen that while in Delhi, he will hold discussions with potential investors to attract them to invest in Odisha.

The CM added that his government has targeted to attract Rs 5 lakh crore investment in Odisha in five years. During his Delhi visit he will present proposals to both Indian and foreign industrialists and corporate.

Majhi claimed that his government has received Rs 45,000 crore investment proposals in the first 100 days.

Majhi said he is slated to attend an investors’ meet to invite them to Odisha.

The state government will host two high-profile events at New Delhi on Thursday as part of the curtain raiser of the fourth edition of Make-in-Odisha conclave ‘Utkarsh Odisha 2025′.

Talks will be held with different investors to set up units in important sectors like food processing, IT, chemicals and petro-chemicals, the CM said.

The Chief Minister will address ambassadors of more than 10 countries in the first event that will showcase emerging investment opportunities in Odisha as the run-up to the mega investment summit.

Majhi will personally invite global stakeholders to participate in Utkarsh Odisha to be held on January 28 and 29 in Bhubaneswar.

In the afternoon, G2B meetings have been planned where the chief minister will meet with prominent industry leaders and representatives from various sectoral associations. It will follow a curtain raiser for the conclave during which the state government will unveil the detailed programme of the investors’ summit.

The state will also host an interactive session with the CM and a roadshow for business leaders and industrialists from the Delhi NCR region in the evening.

The roadshow will emphasise the industrial ecosystem of Odisha, its robust infrastructure and opportunities for collaboration in sectors such as IT & ITeS, textiles, food processing, chemicals, petrochemicals, renewable energy, and electronics manufacturing.

Union Ministers from Odisha, Dharmendra Pradhan, Jual Oram and Ashwini Vaishnaw are slated to attend the events.

In Delhi, the CM will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Industries and Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, chief secretary Manoj Ahuja and principal secretary Hemant Sharma.
