Updates in Online Ticket booking to happen soon! Ministry of railways informed

New Delhi: Indian Railways has been introducing many facilities from time to time to provide better services to the passengers. In this series, Railways is now updating the online ticket booking system. Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) are working to make the online ticket booking system easy and convenient.

In a statement, the ministry said that the comments or recommendations contained in the 8th Report of the Standing Committee on Railways on Passenger Protection System of Indian Railways have been approved by the government. The Ministry of Railways said that it has taken several steps from time to time to modernize the ticketing process. In fact, many times passengers face difficulties in getting tickets online. In such a situation, online ticketing is working to make the process easier and more convenient.

The ministry said that the ‘Next Generation e-Ticket’ (NET) system has been continuously upgraded. From this figure you can get an idea that in 2016-17, 15,000 tickets were issued per minute, while in 2017-18, 18,000 tickets were issued per minute and in 2018-19, 20,000 tickets were issued. Railways informed that currently, the IRCTC website has the capacity to book more than 25,000 tickets per minute. On the other hand, if we talk about records so far, on March 5, 2020, a record 26,458 tickets were booked in one minute.
