Zomato, Swiggy Increase Platform Fee to ₹6 Per Order

Food delivery giants Zomato and Swiggy have raised their platform fee from Rs 5 to Rs 6 per order, marking a 20% hike.

This fee, applicable in Delhi and Bengaluru, is separate from delivery charges, GST, restaurant fees, and handling costs. The increase is set to expand to other cities soon.

This adjustment follows a previous 25% increase in April, when Zomato raised the fee to Rs 5.

The platform fee was initially introduced at Rs 2 in August last year to bolster margins and drive profitability.

Zomato and Swiggy aim to generate between Rs 1.25 crore to Rs 1.5 crore daily through these charges, which are intended to help manage costs and enhance revenue streams.
