2 Detained in Bihar for Replacing Ashoka Chakra on National Flag With ‘Crescent Moon, Star’

Patna: Two persons were detained by the police in Bihar’s Saran district for allegedly carrying India’s national flag with a ‘crescent moon and star’ in place of the Ashoka Chakra during a Milad-un-Nabi procession on Monday.

The flag was seized by the police.

The police resorted to the action when a video went viral on social media showing a tricolour with a crescent moon and star symbol in place of the Ashoka Chakra being flown on a vehicle during Milad-un-Nabi procession in the Kopa Bazar area of Saran.

The police launched an investigation for violation of the Flag Code of India, seized the flag and nabbed the accused. An investigation is continuing to nab the other accused.
