Lucknow: Eight men were arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar after they allegedly kidnapped two dancers at gunpoint to perform at a birthday party.
They kidnapped the dancers to celebrate the birthday of Ajit Singh — one of the accused. After getting drunk, the group decided to get two dancers to perform at the birthday party. Using two Toyota Fortuners they kidnapped the two female dancers at late night pointing guns at them. They also fired in the air to terrorize the local residents.
Getting information about the kidnap, a police team reached Ajit Singh’s house and rescued the dancers. Six accused were arrested from the spot. Two other accused managed to escape.
Police announced cash reward of Rs 25,000 for the arrest of these two accused — Nisar Ansari and Aditya Sahni.
They were intercepted during a police check. The accused tried to escape by opening fire at the police. In retaliatory firing, the two accused were shot in the leg and arrested.
In a video released by the police, these two accused are seated in wheelchairs, their legs plastered. They are seen holding their ears and pleading, “Please forgive us. This won’t happen again.”
