Andhra Man Involved in Selling Away Rental Cars Arrested in Berhampur

Berhampur: A 30-year-old driver from Andhra Pradesh, who selling away the cars of his owners was arrested by the personnel of the Berhampur Town police station.

The arrested accused has been identified as is M Krishna Pradhan from Kollur village under the Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh.

For some time he was staying in the Basudevnagar area of Berhampur city in Odisha. ,

According to sources, Pradhan was driving the car of one B Chalapati Rao of Berhampur on car on rent. On May 18, he took the car for rental purpose but did not return it. Pradhan kept lying to Chalapati that the clients were taking him to different places for which he was unable to return to Berhampur.

From May 29, Pradhan kept his mobile p[hone switched off, and this made Chalapati suspect something fishy. Later, he got to know that Pradhan drove rental cars and sold them.

Chalapati lodged a police complaint and Pradhan was arrested on Thursday from Berhampur. He is said to have confessed to the crime during interrogation.

Five cars and a bike were recovered from Pradhan’s possession. Police are continuing further investigation into the case.
