Angry Over Faulty E-Scooter, Karnataka Man Sets Fire to Showroom

Bengaluru: Angry over not getting proper after-sale service, a customer of an Ola electric scooter allegedly torched a showroom in Karnataka’s Kalaburagi. A case has been registered, and the accused has been arrested by the police.

According to police sources, the 26-year-old accused, Mohammad Nadeem, had a heated altercation with the customer support executives at the showroom on Tuesday.  Later he set fire to the showroom.

Six vehicles and the computer systems of the showroom were burnt down in the arson.

According to media reports, Nadeem, a mechanic by profession, had purchased the e-scooter a month back by paying Rs 1.4 lakh. But he faced technical snags related to the battery and sound system of the vehicle a few days after the purchase.

The accused alleged that the customer service centre at the showroom did not address to his grievances properly despite his repeated visits.
