Asst Engineer Caught Red-Handed While taking Bribe in Koraput Dist

Koraput: An assistant engineer posted in the Kundura block of Koraput district was caught red-handed by the Odisha vigilance sleuths on Friday while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a person.

The erring government engineer identified as Bhanumati Tudu, was apprehended while demanding and accepting a bribe at the Kundura Block office from a complainant for facilitating the release of bill towards construction of a “cattle shed”.

The entire marked up bribe money was recovered and seized from the possession of the accused.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches were taken up at three locations linked to Tudu from disproportionate assets (DA) angle.
