Ayodhya Ram Temple’s College Going Cleaning Staff Gang-Raped; 8 Arrested

Ayodhya: A college student, who is also a cleaning staff at the Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya was allegedly gang-raped. Eight persons were arrested in Ayodhya on Friday following a complaint lodged by the victim with the police.

According to the police, one Vansh Chaudhary, a resident of Sahadatganj in Ayodhya took the victim to a guest house on August 16 and confined her there. He as well as his two friends gang-raped her, there.

Then they called up three more friends to rape her.

The victim is a third-year BA student in a degree college in Ayodhya town and also serves as a cleaning staff at the Ram Janmabhoomi temple.

From the guest house, the accused took the victim to a barrage in Banvirpur and again sexually assaulted her. They released the victim on August 18.

The accused threatened to kill her as well as her family members, so she did not approach the police immediately. But Vansh again abducted her on August 25 and tried to sexually assault her along with four others inside a car. But the car rammed into a divider and she escaped from their clutches.

The areas the girl identified as places of crime are high-security zones in the temple town. The girl alleged before the media that she had first gone to the police on August 26 but her case was not registered.

A case was registered on September 2 after an inquiry and all eight accused have been arrested, said police sources.
