Bengaluru Coffee Chain Staff Records Video by Phone in Women’s Toilet, Arrested

Bengaluru: A 23-year-old youth working at a famous coffee chain in Bengaluru was arrested for allegedly recording video by hiding a mobile phone in a dustbin in the women’s toilet.

He had put the phone in flight mode to avoid it making any sound.

The accused identified as Manoj was sacked by the coffee chain after the incident.

He was arrested after a woman, posted a story about a woman who found a phone hidden in the dustbin of the women’s washroom with video recording switched on for about two hours.

The post stated that the phone was placed inside the dustbin bag which had a hole made in it so that the camera was visible.

After the discovery of the phone, it was found that it belonged to one of the men working in the coffee shop. The police were called and the accused was arrested.

According to police sources, the woman found the phone wrapped in tissue paper. The phone has been seized and sent for forensic examination.

In a statement, the concerned coffee chain, Third Wave Coffee said it regretted the “unfortunate” incident and that the management terminated the employee.
