Class 11 Student Stabs Teacher To Death In Classroom At Assam School

Guwahati: A 16-year-old Class 11 student allegedly stabbed his teacher to death in the classroom at a school in Assam’s Sivasagar district on Saturday.

The victim was Rajesh Baruah Bejawada (55), a chemistry teacher. This teacher of the private school had scolded the accused student for his poor score in chemistry at the private school.  He had also asked the student to get his parents to talk with him.

Later in the day, the student came to the class in casual clothes. The teacher, Bejwada asked him to leave as he was not in school uniform. All of a sudden the student attacked Bejawada with a knife. He stabbed the teacher on the head and body repeatedly.

The victim was rushed to a hospital in Dibrugarh, but died on the way to the hospital.

The student has been detained by the police for interrogation and investigation.
