New Delhi: A shocking incident has unfolded in North East Delhi where three students from a local madrasa are accused of murdering their five-year-old classmate. The crime, allegedly motivated by a desire for a school holiday, has sent shockwaves through the community.
The incident came to light on Friday evening when the victim’s mother reported her son’s illness to the police. The child, who was a student at the Madrasa Taleemul Quran in Dayalpur, was found with severe injuries. Despite immediate medical attention, the child succumbed to his injuries.
A subsequent post-mortem revealed that the cause of death was not a disease but rather severe internal injuries inflicted through physical assault. This led to the registration of a murder case by the Delhi Police.
Through meticulous investigation, including reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing students, the police identified three suspects: two 11-year-olds and a 9-year-old. According to investigators, the trio had hatched a plan to murder their classmate in order to force the madrasa to declare a holiday. The inspiration for this morbid act came from a crime show they had watched on TV.
The madrasa has been temporarily closed while the police continue their investigation. The accused students, being minors, will be handled in accordance with the Juvenile Justice Board.
