3 Arrested from Odisha’s Soro in Delhi Journalist’s House Burglary Case

Bhubaneswar: Delhi Police have arrested three individuals from Odisha’s Soro in connection with a high-profile theft at a journalist’s residence in New Friends Colony, Delhi.

The suspects, hailing from Raghunathpur and Machada villages in Balasore district, allegedly stole gold and diamond ornaments valued at Rs 1.5 crore from the home of journalist Sidharth Gautam Mohanty last month.

One of the accused, Madan Mohan Das, a former employee at Mohanty’s house, was among those apprehended.

Acting on Mohanty’s complaint, the Delhi Police conducted a 13-day manhunt, leading to the arrest of the trio in Soro. Cops recovered Rs 4 lakh in cash and approximately Rs 78 lakh worth of stolen ornaments. Some jewellery had already been sold to buyers in Nilagiri and Basudevpur.
