Doctor Shot Dead by Teens Posing as Patients at Nursing Home in Delhi  

New Delhi: A 55-year-old doctor was shot dead at a private nursing home in Delhi’s Jaitpur on Wednesday night by two teenagers.

According to reports this murder took place at the Nima Hospital in Jaitpur area. At late night, two teenagers reached the hospital and one of them asked the staff to change the dressing for his injured toe. The night before, the teenager was treated at the hospital.

After the dressing was done, the teenagers said they wanted to consult the doctor and went inside the cabin of Dr Javed Akhtar, a practitioner of Unani Medicine.

A few minutes later, a gunshot was heard from the doctor’s cabin. The staff of the private nursing home rushed to the doctor’s cabin and found him bleeding from his head.

According to the eyewitnesses, the suspects could be 16 or 17 years old.

Police suspect that it was a case of targeted killing and the assailants’ visit the previous night could have been for a recce.

Police are now scanning the footage of CCTV cameras inside the hospital to identify the suspects and arrest them.
