Delhi Police Nets Gangster Hunting Wife’s Lover

New Delhi: Delhi Police arrested the leader of the ‘Kana Gang,’ on Monday for his alleged involvement in a series of crimes fueled by a desire for revenge stemming from his wife’s infidelity.

Officials revealed that the accused, Identified as Akash alias Kana, a resident of Madanpur Khadar, was apprehended in Delhi’s Kalindi Kunj area while on his way to commit another crime. The investigation disclosed that Kana was searching for Ranjan, a member of the Shahrukh Gang (affiliated with the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang), whom he accused of having an affair with his wife.

According to police reports, Kana’s vengeance knew no bounds. He allegedly set Ranjan’s house ablaze on the intervening night of August 31 and September 1, leaving Ranjan with severe burn injuries.

“The accused, Kana, has a criminal history encompassing multiple cases, including a robbery-cum-murder case in Sarita Vihar,” informed Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) Rakesh Paweriya. “Upon his release on bail in 2023, he discovered his wife living with Ranjan. This revelation ignited a fire for revenge, prompting him to set Ranjan’s house on fire,” DCP Paweriya added.

Acting on a tip-off regarding Kana’s movements and his tendency to carry a loaded pistol, a police team apprehended him from Jaitpur Kalindi Kunj Road while riding a stolen motorcycle.

“He attempted to resist arrest, but our team overpowered him and recovered a loaded pistol along with five cartridges from his possession,” DCP Paweriya said.
