Half-Naked Body of Second Wife Recovered from Well in Dhenkanal; Husband Detained

Dhenkanal: The half-naked body of a middle-aged woman was recovered from a well on Thursday morning at the Balibo village under the Bhuban police station limits in Dhenkanal district.

The deceased woman was identified as Basanti Raut (40), the second wife of one Pradhan Raut of the village.

On Thursday morning, a group of women discovered her body floating in the well. Receiving information, police and the Fire Services personnel recovered Basanti’s body from the well.

The police have detained Basanti’s husband Pradhan and started an investigation into the case.

Police are investigating whether Basanti fell into the well by accident or her body was dumped in the well after murder.
