Kerala Man Arrested At Mumbai Airport for Assaulting Crew, Trying to Open Door Of Air India Express Flight

Mumbai: A 25-year-old youth from Kerala was arrested by the Mumbai police for allegedly assaulting the cabin crew of an Air India Express flight from Kozhikode to Bahrain and also trying to open the door of the aircraft.

According to reports, because of the misbehaviour of the youth, the plane had to make an emergency landing at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai on Saturday. The accused, Abdul Musavir Nadukandee, was arrested immediately after the flight landed in Mumbai.

Nadukandee woke up when the flight took off from Kozhikode and allegedly assaulted the cabin crew and tried to open the door of the aircraft. When the crew members tried to get him back to his seat, he abused and assaulted other passengers and threatened to open the emergency door.

Fearing a security threat, the pilot made an emergency landing at the Mumbai airport.

The accused has been booked under sections 336 (act endangering life), 504 (provocation to breach of the peace), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant provisions of the Aircraft Act.
