Leopard Skin Seized in Nupada Dist, 5 Arrested

Nuapada: Five persons were arrested by forest officials in the Nuapada district of Odisha for possessing a leopard hide and trying to sell it.

Khariar DFO Ajiz Khan told the media that the forest officials nabbed the accused persons while they were trying to sell the leopard skin at Haripur village under the Khariar forest division.

A team of Forest officials raided the house of a wildlife poacher in the village. During the raid, the officials seized the leopard skin and arrested 5 persons from the spot. Two others managed to escape.

Forest officials had seized two leopard hides and arrested 7 persons during raids at a hotel and a house under Khariar forest range on January 11.
