Man Booked for Smoking in Toilet of Delhi-Mumbai Flight

Mumbai: A case has been lodged against a 38-year-old man for smoking in the toilet of a Delhi-Mumbai IndiGo flight.

The flight, carrying 176 passengers, took off from Delhi airport around 5.15 pm. Khalil Kajammul Khan, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, who was travelling in the plane, went to the toilet about 50 minutes before its landing at the Mumbai airport.

Khan smoked a cigarette in the toilet and the cabin crew was alerted by smoke sensors. When he came out of the lavatory, the crew inspected and found a matchstick and a cigarette stub inside.

Upon being questioned by the crew, Khan admitted to smoking in the toilet.

After the plane landed at the Mumbai airport, the matter was reported to security personnel and Khan was taken to Sahar police station. A case was registered against him under the Indian Penal Code and Aircraft Rules.
