Man Hacks Younger Brother to Death Over Land Dispute in Mayurbhanj

Baripada: A man hacked his younger brother to death with a sword over a land dispute at the Nalagaja village under the Rasgobindpur police station in Mayurbhanj district on Sunday. The accused, Arun Mahana has reportedly fled along with the murder weapon. He allegedly killed his younger brother, Jayant Mahana, due to a dispute over the boundary of their respective houses. According to sources, these two brothers were frequently involved in heated altercations over the lanbd dispute in the past.

On Sunday, Jayant’s attempt to fence the boundary of his house led to another fierce quarrel between the brothers. In a fit of rage, Arun attacked Jayant with a sword and hit neck repeatedly. Jayant died on the spot.

After committing the crime, Arun escaped from the spot on his bike along with the blood-stained sword.

After receiving information, personnel from the Rasgobindpur police station have reached the crime scene to initiate an investigation. A search is on to nab the culprit.
