Police Sub-Inspector Arrested, Dismissed for Raping Head-Constable at Gunpoint

Hyderabad: Bhavani Sen, a Sub-Inspector of Telangana Police was arrested and dismissed from service on Wednesday for allegedly raping a woman head constable at gunpoint.

He allegedly committed the crime on June 16 in a guest room of an irrigation project’s accommodation facility in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district.

The victim is also posted at the Kaleswaram police station. In her complaint, she stated that SI Sen threatened her with his service revolver and raped her.

Police investigation confirmed the allegations, leading to SI Sen’s arrest and permanent dismissal from the police force.

Sen has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
