3.75 Quintals Of Ganja Worth ₹37 Lakh Seized in Odisha’s Sonepur, 2 Arrested

Sonepur: In a major haul linked to a crackdown on illegal activities during the ongoing twin elections in Odisha, Sonepur police seized over 3.75 quintals of cannabis, with an estimated street value exceeding Rs 37 lakh. Two individuals from Madhya Pradesh were arrested in the operation.

Acting on a tip-off, a special police team intercepted a container truck near the Collectorate. A thorough search of the vehicle led to the discovery of the hidden cannabis stash. The seized cannabis, believed to be sourced from Kantamal in Boudh district, was likely destined for Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

Officials have initiated a comprehensive investigation to dismantle the entire trafficking network.
