Two Leopard Skins Seized in Nuapada Dist, Seven Arrested

Nuapada: Seven persons were arrested by forest officials in the Nuapada district in connection with the seizure of two leopard hides.

Receiving intelligence reports about attempts by some persons to sell leopard skins, officials of the Khariar forest range raided two places.

One leopard hide was seized from a hotel in Khariar, while the other was unearthed from a house at Barapadar. Seven wildlife criminals involved in the illegal trading of these leopard skins were arrested.

Six of the arrested persons were from the Nuapada district, while the other was from Bangamunda of Balangir district. The arrested persons are being interrogated to track down other persons involved in this racket of illegal trade of wild animal skins.
