UP Man Wanting a Son Kills His Newborn Fourth Daughter; Arrested

Lucknow: Irked over the birth of a fourth daughter, a 30-year-old man madly wanting a son killed his newborn girl by slamming her to the ground in a village in Etawah district of UP.

The accused Bablu Diwakar has been arrested. He was in an inebriated state when he committed the murder of the newborn on Sunday.

Diwakar had two daughters with his first wife. After death of his first wife, Diwakar married again and the first child with his second wife was also a daughter.

The couple’s second child, Diwakar’s fourth daughter, was born in August.

On Sunday, an inebriated Diwakar snatched the one-month-old girl from his wife’s lap and flung her to the ground. The newborn was rushed to a hospital, where she died on Wednesday.

His wife Deepu registered a case against Diwakar, who has been booked under section 105 (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the BNS.
