UP Woman Arrested for Torturing Husband with Cigarette Burns

Lucknow: A woman named Mehar Jahan of Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor was arrested for torturing her husband by tying him up and burning his body parts with a cigarette.

As per reports, the accused was arrested on May 5 by the Seohara district police after her husband filed a complaint against her.

The husband, Manan Zaidi, alleged that his wife Mehar intoxicated him, tied up his limbs before burning his body parts with a lit cigarette.

The husband submitted the CCTV footage from his home to the police, which shows Mehar Jahan physically assaulting him, tying his hands and feet, and attempting to strangle him while sitting on his chest.

In the video, she can be seen burning her husband’s body parts with a lit cigarette.

The police registered a case against Mehar Jahan under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including attempted murder, assault, and torture, and have taken her into custody.
