Woman Allegedly Thrashed to Death by Husband for Dowry in Ganjam Dist

Bhubaneswar: A woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband and in-laws for dowry demands at Benugoura village under Rambha police station limits in Ganjam district.

The victim’s father-in-law, mother-in-law and sister-in-law have reportedly absconded. Police have taken the victim’s husband into custody for interrogation.

According to sources, the couple married a year back. It is alleged that the groom’s family was demanding hefty dowry which included Rs 2 lakh in cash. It was alleged that the bride was facing torture for the dowry demand.

It is alleged that the victim was beaten to death by her husband and in-laws on Tuesday.
