Woman Dies as Husband Uses YouTube Tutorial to Deliver Baby at Home

Chennai: A 27-year-old woman died in Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri due to severe blood loss when her husband attempted natural birth at home by following instructions from YouTube videos.

As per reports, a woman named Loganayaki suffered blood loss when her husband could not cut the umbilical cord attached to the newborn properly. She was then rushed to the

Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Rathika.

As the woman was brought dead, the Medical Officer at the Rathika PHC, filed a complaint with the police about the death of Loganayaki.

The deceased was a resident of Puliampatti near Pochampalli. According to police sources, her husband Madhesh tried to deliver the baby at home when she experienced labour pain. He preferred to use the knowledge he received from YouTube tutorials rather than approaching medical help.

During the delivery, the umbilical cord was not cut properly leading to severe blood loss. The woman was brought to the PHC in an unconscious state and was declared dead upon arrival.

Local police filed a case against the husband of the deceased woman.
