Woman Throws Boiling Oil on Neighbours Over Boundary Dispute in Assam, 5 Injured

Guwahati: Five persons were seriously injured when a woman allegedly threw boiling hot oil on her neghbours over a boundary dispute in Assam’s Guwahati, reported Hindustan Times. The injured included a minor girl.

The incident happened in North Guwahati’s Amingaon area on Saturday. The police have registered a case against the accused named Jonali Hazarika Kalita.

According to sources, there was an altercation between the neighbours on Friday and the dispute took an ugly turn on Saturday.

On Saturday, Jonali went to the house of her neighbour on Saturday with a bowl of boiling oil and threw it on the family members.

The injured persons sustained grievous injuries. They were admitted to the Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH).

Police have registered a case against Jonali under 307 (attempt to murder) and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The accused has been detained for interrogation.
