Youth Ends Life After Being Raped by 4 Men in UP

Lucknow: A 23-year-old youth committed suicide in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur on Friday, allegedly hours after being sexually assaulted by four men.

The victim reportedly made a friendship with one of the accused named Karan through social media. Karan then invited him to his house in Chiluatal.

On Thursday, Karan allegedly took the victim to a hotel where he and three of his associates held the victim hostage, sexually assaulted him, and beat him up with a belt. They also allegedly recorded the sexual assault and threatened to post it online if he didn’t pay them money.

The victim reportedly filed a complaint at the Shahpur Police Station on Friday under sections of the Indian Penal Code pertaining to unnatural offences, extortion, criminal intimidation, and other relevant charges.

Later that night, the victim spoke to his nephew and then allegedly committed suicide. His family found his body on Saturday morning and informed the police.

Police have arrested three of the accused – Karan alias Ashutosh Mishra (26), Devesh Rajnand (24), and Angad Kumar (21). The fourth suspect, Mohan Prajapati (20) is absconding.
