Youth Impregnates Minor Girl In Gajapati Dist; Arrested

Paralakhemundi: A youth was arrested by police for allegedly impregnating a minor girl through false promise of marriage in Odisha’s Gajapati district.

According to the police complaint registered by the victim from a village under the Gurandi police station in Ganjam district, a youth named B Tarun of Dasmantpur village under Gunupur police station in Rayagda district had developed a relationship with her around three years back.

Tarun developed physical relations with her by promising to marry her and she became pregnant. When the girl’s family proposed to Tarun’s family for marriage, Tarun and his family declined.

The victim was a minor when she became pregnant. Now she has crossed 18 years and is 7-month pregnant. The pregnancy cannot be aborted.

The girl has lodged a complaint at Gurandi police station against Tarun. Police have arrested Tarun and further investigation is continuing.
