Nagpur: A 28-year-old youth strangled his mother to death in Nagpur of Maharashtra when she refused to give him money to buy a smartphone.
The deceased Kamlabai Badwaik (47) died on Wednesday. Police investigation and postmortem gave strangulation as the cause of death.
Ramnath, one of the two sons of the deceased was arrested by police in connection to the murder.
Her other son, son Deepak had received a call from Ramnath stating that their mother was rushed to a hospital, where she died. Deepak found that his mother’s gold ornaments were missing from the body.
Deepak alerted the police and during interrogation, Ramnath confessed to killing his mother with a scarf as she had refused to give him money to buy a smartphone.
