Headmaster Attends School in Drunken State in Jajpur Dist; Issued Show Cause Notice

Jajpur: Authorities of the mass education department issued a show-cause notice to a headmaster of a government school in the Jajpur district for attending the school in a drunken state.

The erring headmaster posted at a primary school in Dharmasala block in Jajpur district was issued a show cause notice by the concerned Block Education Officer (BEO). The headmaster has to respond to the notice in three days. As per the BEO, appropriate action will be initiated against the erring headmaster after he provides his reply to the notice.

The drunken antics of the headmaster came to light when the school managing committee and several parents reported it to the Block Education Officer, demanding strict action. A viral video of the headmaster in an inebriated state was shown as proof. In the video, the headmaster is seen lying on the road at a short distance from the school.

The parents and the school management alleged that the headmaster was regularly coming to the school in a drunken state.

In 2023, three similar cases of inebriated teachers were reported in the Jajpur district.
