Lucknow: An elective course named ‘The Wisdom of Indian Philosophy’ is being taught at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow.
This course in English is based on the Patanjali Yoga Sutra, Samkhya Karika, Upanishads, and the Bhagavad Gita. The theory of karma is an important part of this course.
The creator of this course, Professor Anadi Pande, feels it will help students in self-management, and stress reduction, and will enhance their mental ability.
It is 15 15-hour course being taught both in the Lucknow as well as Noida campuses.
During the course, various Sanskrit sutras are recited and discussed in the classroom, to help students feel more connected to Indian philosophy. Participants are also taught to develop meditative practices like Kriya Yoga to improve their mental abilities.
